Vecto 4-feeder & IO expander

The VECTO 4-Feeder and IO Expander unit is a DIN rail mounted USB-C based accessory that adds the following to any VECTO host device:

  • 16 x Current Sensors (18-bit @ 2MHz sampling. > 500kHz Analog Bandwidth)
  • 32 x Single ended Analog/Logic inputs. Can be arranged as follow:
    • 32 x Single Ended
    • 16 x Differential
    • 8 x 20mA inputs with built-in 250R termination resistor
    • 8 x Solid State Relay Outputs – Each with contact surge protecion

The Expander Unit is powered and controled via the USB-C port and only contains the analog and digitising circuitry. All analog circuitry is identical to those found on the main VECTO host unit.

All signal processing is still done on the main VECTO host unit. Each VECTO device can therefore digitise 1 x voltage busbar, its own onboard number of current feeders plus 4 additional feeders and then all the other analog/logic and relay channels.

This arrangement significantly reduces the cost per feeder.

When plugged into any of the VECTO host devices, the Expander Unit will automatically expand the existing Power Quality capability of the host device. Only the VECTO 3 + device has the processing capability to expand PMU, SS-Oscillation Phasor and Digital Disturbance recording capabilities to all channels.

When the VECTO host device detects the presence of the Expander Unit, It will automatically halt to accomodate the new hardware functionality. User input will be required to configure the new hardware and software functionality.

The USB-C cable is lockable on both sides to form a robust and secure power & control link between the host device and the Expander Unit.

Please Note:

  • VECTO Host devices would require firmware update to support multiple feeders and expanded IO channels.
  • For safety purposes, both the VECTO host device and the Expander Unit needs to be individually earthed.
  • Full VECTO host firmware & VECTO Grid OS support will only be available towards Q4 2026.
